Where every number comes from
Each price as its publisher states it, read on 26 October 2026, never averaged. The hours are our estimate and the hourly rate is our default; you can change both. The only math is a monthly price times twelve, hours times the rate, and adding up one row's own lines.

| Your hours to build it | Our estimate, not a source's: 24 hours of setup (picking the searches each page targets, forms and where leads go, GA4 and Clarity with attribution, schema, the Google Business Profile) plus 6 hours a page to plan, write and build it, 40 at least and 160 at most. Change it to your own. For context, on building pages alone: Network Solutions, which sells domains and a builder, puts a site on a builder at 10 to 20 hours and calls that a best estimate. (Network Solutions, How long does it take to build a website? (vendor blog, no basis stated, published 10 July 2026, checked 26 October 2026)) Bluehost's survey of 201 owners found those who built with AI saved about 32 hours against hiring someone. That's hours saved, not hours spent. (Bluehost, The AI Website Builder Report (survey of 201 US owners, run by Fractl for Bluehost, published 16 September 2026, checked 26 October 2026)) | Ours; context as cited |
| What an hour of your time is worth | $50 to start, our default, close to the $51.55 an hour median wage for US transportation, storage and distribution managers ($107,230 a year) in May 2025. Change it to your own. | US Bureau of Labor Statistics, Transportation, Storage, and Distribution Managers (federal statistics, wages for May 2025, checked 26 October 2026) |
| S4L.IO | $2,450 flat, up to 20 pages, live in two weeks. About 2 hours of your time, our estimate: a 30-minute interview, gathering your materials (logo, insurance certificate, DNS access) and one review of the preview. | Our pricing page |
How it works
How to read the estimate
Pages. The number you type is the number of pages: home, about, contact, one per service, a quote page. Features never add dollars: a quote form, a packet download or a link to your hiring system or tracking page sits on a page you counted. Every builder plan shown has room for them, and our build includes them.
Hours. We found no source that measures how long an owner spends building their own site, so the hours start at our estimate for a first build: 24 hours of setup plus 6a page, 40 at least and 160 at most. The setup is the planning a builder leaves to you: the searches each page targets, the forms and where leads go, GA4 and Clarity with attribution, schema and the Google Business Profile. Change the number to yours.
Your time on both sides. Both rows count your hours at the same rate, $50an hour to start. On an S4L.IO build that's about 2 hours: the 30-minute interview, gathering your materials and one review of the preview.
Renewals. Where a page prints a renewal price, we use it. Where it doesn't, we show the price as shown and say so, because the first year is often discounted.
Our row. Without a plan there's no S4L.IO fee after the build: you pay hosting and the domain directly, at the prices in the table above.
What we left out, and why
- Business email: it costs the same either way
- Hostinger: only a 48-month prepaid price is shown
- Framer: forms aren't listed and the billing isn't labelled
- Lovable: priced in credits, not pages
Questions
Website cost questions
How much does a website cost for a logistics company?
On a builder, the plans in this calculator run $9.99 to $22 a month billed yearly, plus a domain, and the build is your own time: we estimate 40 to 160 hours for a first build, depending on how many pages it has. Our build is $2,450 flat for up to 20 pages, plus about 2 hours of your time.
Is building it myself really cheaper?
In cash, yes: a builder plan and a domain come to a few hundred dollars in year one. What you pay with is your time. A builder gives you the tools and leaves the planning to you: which searches each page targets, what goes on each page and in what order, the forms and where leads go, GA4 and Clarity with attribution, schema and a Google Business Profile. We estimate 24 hours for that setup plus 6 hours a page, and the calculator counts them at $50 an hour unless you change either number. A builder can be enough for a small operation; our free guides show what to put on it.
Where do the hours come from?
They're our estimate for a first build, not a source's: about 24 hours of setup plus about 6 hours a page to plan, write and build it, 40 hours at least and 160 at most. No source we found measures how long an owner spends, so change the number to yours. The S4L.IO row counts about 2 hours of yours too: the 30-minute interview, gathering your materials and one review of the preview.
Why does an hour start at $50?
It's our default, close to the median wage for US transportation, storage and distribution managers: $51.55 an hour in May 2025, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Change it to what an hour of yours is worth; both rows use the same rate.
What isn't in the $2,450 build?
Three things. More than 20 pages is a custom quote against a written scope. Anything the site has to do as a working system, like reviewing uploaded documents, tracking we build, a quote engine or an applicant pipeline, is a platform, priced on its own; a full DOT driver application, with Social Security and license numbers, stays in your hiring system, and the site links to it. And your domain and hosting are billed to you directly, unless you take Care, which covers the hosting.
Do I need Care after the build?
No. Without a plan there's no S4L.IO fee after the build: you pay your hosting and domain directly, and changes after launch are quoted. Care is $395 a month if you want a tech team on the site: hosting, forms and leads, business email and small changes.
What happens if I email myself the estimate?
You get one email from nic@s4l.io with the estimate, your answers and the date we checked the figures. Nothing automatic follows it: no mailing list and no sequence. If you tick the box, Nicolas may write to you himself. We keep your answers with your email for 90 days, then delete them, and our team's note of the request never includes your hours or what an hour of yours is worth.
How current are these prices?
We read every price on its publisher's page on 26 October 2026 and re-check them every quarter. Builders run promotions and some prices vary by location, so check the builder's own page before you buy. Each price links to its source.
